What a fantastic day! Thank you to everyone at the Open University and Birmingham Symphony Hall for a wonderful ceremony, and to Amantia Restaurant for helping me to celebrate on the evening with plenty of tapas and sangria – and thank you so much for the complimentary Prosecco too!

I’m the world’s worst food blogger (no time to take pictures of food, just dig in!) but Amantia was a great choice for our celebration meal. Hubby and Ma had tapas, Pa had the Iberian Pork (Abanico de Iberico) and I had the Pato al brandy – duck with a brandy sauce. Every dish was presented beautifully, and there was little left on any of our plates at the end! There’s always room for dessert though, and I’m still salivating over the amazing Tarta de Santiago.
The service was wonderful; they had noted my graduation on the booking and presented me with a congratulations card and a free bottle of Prosecco. Such a nice touch, but the food, service and atmosphere alone would warrant a return visit (must try that amazing looking paella next time!).
