Outdoor Drinking and Dining – B46 & Beyond

From April 12th (fingers crossed) outdoor hospitality is finally allowed to resume for the first time in almost six months for some. Like a lot of people, I’m looking forward to that first draught beer, and that first meal cooked and served by someone outside my immediate household. And for someone else to do the washing-up. If you’re looking to stay local, here’s a brief list of those venues that plan to open for outdoor drinking and dining.

Please remember that Rule of 6, mask-wearing, hand hygiene and social distancing still applies! Don’t be the jerk that breaks the rules and ruins it for everyone else.

There’s also plenty of covered benches. They’ve also released their new Garden Menu with plenty of home-cooked options on offer. The Gate have done great work continuing a takeaway service throughout lockdown so show them some love! There is a card machine available but their wi-fi can sometimes be a bit dodgy so they recommend bringing some cash too. Facebook Page here

The Griffin Inn, Shustoke. Open from April 12th. Outside bar, open midday to 9.30pm. Tables are first come, first served. The kitchen will be open for lunch Monday to Saturday 12-2. Facebook Page here.

These are a few of my favourite things. Bookings are recommended via their website https://www.no18tamworth.com/

The Plough Inn, Shustoke. Re-opening from the 12th April for outdoor dining. They do have pods which seat between 6-12 but these are already getting booked up very quickly! Whitacre Hall Tea Room, Nether Whitacre. You’ll need somewhere to walk off all this outdoor drinking and dining, and Whitacre Hall is the perfect place. Only you’ll probably put all the calories back on with their selection of homemade cakes. It’s currently open for takeaway drinks, cakes and light bites, and outdoor seating is back from Wednesday April 14th. Facebook Page here

I’ll be adding to this list as more and more outdoor spaces open up so please let me know in the comments below or drop me a message via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram!

Make sure you check the venue’s website or social media pages for more details on booking or up-to-date opening hours and menus. And if you book a table but can’t make it, please remember to cancel with sufficient notice so that it can be released for someone else. Non-attendance has a huge impact on small businesses in particular.
